Hello, I am Jeremy R. Williams, also known as “J-Dub,” as assigned by one of my students from many years ago. I have been fishing my entire life, starting with catfishing, crappie fishing, and white bass fishing. Ultimately, this led me into recreational bass fishing, which is far more complicated. I fell in love with being on the water, in a boat, seeing Nature, and learning how to problem solve while on the water. I find bass fishing to be a sanctuary for internal growth, improving critical thinking skills, spiritual development, sportsmanship, competitiveness, and ultimately mastering a craft (bass fishing) that cannot be mastered.
I have worked with children and students (Teacher of the Year winner, Teacher of the Month multiple times, working with at-risk students, general public school education, and disabled students) – as a teacher, coach, and after-school at-risk program for multiple school districts, managing many employees, designing curriculum, and ensuring a nurturing, learning environment for all children and students. Dub Fishing Academy is merely a beginning to a much larger plan to start a foundation for at-risk, disabled students to participate in bass fishing. Due to costs many students do not experience the immediate and long-term benefits of applying fishing skills learned on the water to everyday life struggles – namely overcoming adverse challenges with integrity standing tall – despite outcomes.
